This is an introductory course which aims to give anyone a basic understanding of data protection law within the UK.
This course will cover:
- The history of data protection law;
- Common terms and phrases used;
- The six principles of data protection law;
- The lawful bases for processing personal data;
- Accountability;
- Data Subjects’ Rights; and
- Data breaches.
We have a number of additional courses that look in greater depth at some of the issues raised, and these will be highlighted at the appropriate times.
This course takes approximately [45 minutes], and is divided into sections so that you can learn at your own pace. At the end of the course there is a quiz to test your learning. If you successfully pass the quiz then you will be able to download a certificate to show your completion of the course.
